WWWE Logo Lag

In a Web context, lag refers to the pause between the sending of a data packet and its reception. Lag may be a result of network parameters or the limitations of server hardware. Network lag is not a function of the distance between computers so much as of restrictions on the connection bandwidth. Processor memory lag may result from running a program larger than the internal server memory or from a large number of clients accessing a single server simultaneously.
